I thought maybe NASCAR got wise with the Daytona summer race placing it on a Sunday afternoon. Then, I read elsewhere it’s likely to be a late afternoon green flag. When does it normally rain in Florida?
I think everyone will agree that MY 2015 NASCAR Cup Series schedule is FAR better.

Personally, your schedule is not very good. What gets me is that you leave Indy on, a horrible track for stock cars, but dump Michigan. There is one point about Michigan that dictates why the track must have two race dates. More than half the crowd comes from Ontario, Canada. Yes, New Hampshire gets a fair number of Canadians, as does The Glen. This also dictates why it is important for those tracks to remain. We here in Ontario know full well that we will most likely never see a Cup race here. It will never happen. So, Michigan (and The Glen) is our only opportunity to see any Cup racing in the near future. Two races at Michigan!
There isn’t room at Irwindale for a Cup race, or even a Nationwide series race. At best they could host a Truck series race.
For the life of me, I don’t understand the scheduling of standalone Nationwide races at Cup tracks (Chicagoland, Kentucky). I have visions of more crew members on pit road than fans in the stands. You can’t tell me there aren’t a couple of short tracks that would actually treat it like a big deal, namely some of the tracks that NASCAR abandoned in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. .
Along these lines, since at every Cup World Toyota Series race the stands are full to capacity with virtual fans perhaps we could run the races virtually as well. It would save on both equipment and travel time and as a bonus keep Kyle Busch out of your town.
The Nationwide Series gets a pretty sweet August/September stretch:
Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 – Iowa, NBCSN
Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 – Watkins Glen, NBCSN
Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 – Mid-Ohio, NBCSN
Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 – Bristol, NBCSN
Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 – Road America, NBCSN
Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 – Darlington, NBC
Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 – Richmond, NBCSN
If they led into that stretch with IRP instead of the 2.5 mile Borefest, that would be 8 weeks of near racing NASCAR Nirvana.
