Sam Mayer Earns Second O’Reilly Pole at Atlanta This Season

For the third time this season, Sam Mayer will lead the NASCAR Oโ€™Reilly Auto Parts Series field to the green flag for Saturday’s race (July 11).ย 

Mayer won the pole for todayโ€™s race at EchoPark Automotive Speedway with a lap of 173.554 mph. It’s Mayer’s second pole of the season at Atlanta.

Carson Kvapil will line up beside him on the front row to start the race.

Row two will be comprised of Jesse Love and William Sawalich, who roll off third and fourth respectively. 

Sammy Smith qualified fifth to round out the top five, and heโ€™ll have Sheldon Creed beside him on row three in sixth.

Brent Crews, Rajah Caruth, Taylor Gray and Patrick Staropoli will all start inside the top 10.ย 

All drivers took to the track in the session, but Jordan Anderson and Blaine Perkins both pulled off track during their lap due to issues and will start at the rear of the field.ย

Oโ€™Reilly Series teams will now have most of the day to work on their cars at the track, as the start of the race marks the next on-track action for teams. The green flag for the Focused Health 250 will fly at 7 p.m. ET, with television coverage airing on The CW.ย
