This weekend, the 2025 IMSA season gets back underway with another one of the sanctioning body’s crown jewels. Between IMSA’s top series, there will be 96 cars at the circuit that dates back to 1952.
Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring
This weekend, teams will contest the 73rd Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. 56 cars are entered in the 12-hour classic.
In the GTP class, there are 13 cars entered, up one from Daytona. The 13th car is The Heart of Racing’s new Aston Martin Valkyrie, the first time that a Hypercar will compete in IMSA. Roman De Angelis, Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas will drive the V12-powered Aston Martin.
JDC-Miller MotorSports announced Monday afternoon that Porsche factory driver Nico Mueller will join the team this weekend alongside regulars Gianmaria Bruni and Tijmen van der Helm. Mueller has spent the past few years as a factory driver for Peugeot TotalEnergies, but joined Porsche in the offseason. He is focusing on Formula E this year.
There are 12 LMP2 teams entered. Juan Manuel Correa will make his IMSA debut in United Autosports’ No. 2 in Sebring, replacing Garnet Patterson. He’ll drive in the remaining Michelin Endurance Cup races.
At Era Motorsport, Kakunoshin Ohta, who won the Super Formula season opener Saturday at Suzuka Circuit, will drive the No. 18 ORECA 07-Gibson alongside Tobias Lutke and David Heinemeier Hansson. Ohta drove Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian’s No. 93 Acura in the GTP class in Daytona.
Inter Europol Competition announced Friday that Jon Field, who returned to IMSA competition at Daytona after many years away, will not compete at Sebring due to a medical issue. In his place, Jeremy Clarke will make his WeatherTech debut.
Clarke comes to the team after running the full 2024-25 Asian Le Mans Series for AF Corse in the LMP2. He finished ninth in LMP2 points with a best finish of sixth in Race No. 2 at Dubai Autodrome.
The AF Corse/Pecom Racing entry has Luis Perez Companc‘s son Matias joining the team in place of Dylan Murry. Matias is full-time in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge in a Ferrari 296 GT3.
GTD Pro has 11 entries, down from 15 in Daytona. Teams that are not entered include The Heart of Racing’s No. 007 (this only ran due to the Valkyrie not being ready), the Bartone Bros. Mercedes, SunEnergy1 Racing/75 Express and the joint entry between Trackhouse Racing and TF Sport.
Other than the four teams not entered, the driver lineups are more or less the same as Daytona. Many of the teams in the class used three-driver lineups in Daytona.
GTD has 20 teams entered, down from 22 in Daytona. The teams that are not entered are Magnus Racing and AF Corse’s No. 50 Ferrari, which were designed to be one-off entries.
Change-wise, there are fourth drivers from Daytona that are not entered (Ex: No Pipo Derani at DXDT Racing). There are other changes as well.
For example, Cetilar Racing ran the father-son duo of Roberto and Nicola Lacorte in Daytona. Neither driver is entered. Giorgio Sernagiotto, who sat out Daytona, is back in the car.
For NASCAR Xfinity Series fans, Parker Kligerman will not be in the broadcast booth for Saturday’s running of The LiUNA! on The CW. Instead, he’ll make his second start for Forte Racing. He had the chance to test at night at Sebring last month. It was quite the experience for him.

New this week is Czabok-Simpson Racing’s No. 2 Porsche, which sat out Daytona. For the sprint races, the team will field two cars. Robert Megennis will share the car with Phil Fayer.
CarBahn Motorsports with Peregrine Racing is entering a second car, the No. 4 BMW M4 GT4. Bill Cain is the only listed driver at the moment.

Accelerating Performance (formerly Baby Bull Racing) will be back with their race-winning McLaren Artura GT4 from Daytona, but it appears that Michael Cooper may not be. He’s not currently listed on the entry list. His spot is TBD.
Another new team, Panam Motorsport, is entering a Toyota GR Supra GT4 this weekend. Caio Chaves and Werner Neugebauer will drive.
The TCR class has 15 teams entered, down one from Daytona. The only team that is not entered from Daytona is Rockwell Autosport Development with their Audi.
