The repaved superspeedway-esque Atlanta Motor Speedway has put on thrilling races for fans since its debut in 2022, with last year’s NASCAR Cup Series race producing the closest finish in NASCAR history featuring Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney and Daniel Suarez.
Now, what do members of ZZ Top and OutKast, a pre-race dance competition, Red Trousers and sea lions have in common? They are all things you will find at the track this weekend.
Honorary Pace Car Driver
Big Boi, Diamond-selling recording artist and one half of hip-hop group Outkast, will be the honorary pace car driver for the Ambetter Health 400. OutKast topped the Billboard Hot 100 three times with “Ms. Jackson,” “The Way You Move” and “Hey Ya!” in the early 2000s. The duo sold over 25 million albums and became the only hip-hop duo to win a Grammy for album of the year.
Grand Marshal
ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons has been announced as the grand marshal for the Ambetter Health 400. Gibbons’ vocals and guitar playing have been heard all over
the world on songs such as “La Grange,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Sharp Dressed Man.” The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
Pre-Race Entertainment
Before the start of the Ambetter Health 400 on Sunday, Feb. 23, at the pre-race stage, fans will be treated to the first-ever NASCAR Dance Battle. This event will see dance teams compete for glory. America’s Got Talent alumni Funkanometery will be competing.
