Sheldon Creed Wins O’Reilly Chase Race at Darlington

Sheldon Creed won the race off pit road to start the final stage, and he never looked back.

Creed opened up The Chase with his second career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series win at Darlington Raceway after leading 53 laps on Saturday night (Sept. 5).

Corey Day finished runner-up, Brent Crews finished third, Sammy Smith finished fourth and Austin Hill completed the top five.

Anthony Alfredo won the second stage and finished sixth while Taylor Gray, Sam Mayer, Jeremy Clements, and Brandon Jones finished in the seventh to 10th positions.

Pole-sitter Carson Kvapil finished 12th after leading 20 laps and contending up front for much of the race but fell outside the top 10 during the final green flag run.

Another driver who struggled during the final run of the race was Justin Allgaier, who won the opening stage and led 60 laps during the race but dropped all the way down to a 17th place finish.

Despite his plummet in the final stage, Allgaier still remains the points leader by seven points over Creed.
