Using the metric, Tyler Reddick will start on the pole after his top-five run at Daytona International Speedway last weekend.
Daniel Suarez will share the front row with Reddick, then Ryan Preece, Denny Hamlin and Michael McDowell complete the top five starting spots.
Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Austin Dillon and Alex Bowman will start in the sixth to 10th positions.
With all the incidents involving Chase drivers at Daytona, 10 of the 16 contenders will start outside the top 10 and five of them will start 24th or worse.
There were no DNQs as there were only 38 entries for the event.
