Carson Kvapil was the last car on track during Saturday afternoon’s (Sept. 5) qualifying session at Darlington Raceway and he was able to steal the pole away from his teammate Justin Allgaier with a lap at 161.636 mph.
The JR Motorsports duo of Kvapil and Allgaier will lead the field to green for the Fleetio 200, the first Chase race in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Brandon Jones, Jesse Love, and Sam Mayer will start in the third, fourth, and fifth positions.
Austin Hill, Taylor Gray, Brent Crews, Rajah Caruth, and Parker Retzlaff make up the sixth to 10th spots on the grid. Crews was the only non-Chase contender to qualify in the top 10.
Of the Chase contenders outside of the top 10, Sammy Smith will start 11th, Sheldon Creed 13th and Corey Day 14th. There were no crashes during the session, but there were a couple of cars that brushed the wall.
With 38 entrants, everyone made the race, and it will be a full field. That includes Dawson Cram, who was unable to set a time due to an issue on pit road.
O’Reilly Darlington Lineup
The Fleetio 200 at Darlington Raceway, the 25th race of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season and the first of The Chase, will take place on Saturday night, Sept. 5, with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on The CW.
