Corey Day Back at Hendrick for 2027

Corey Day will remain with Hendrick Motorsports’ NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program in 2027, team owner Rick Hendrick revealed during a press conference on Aug. 18.

The conference mostly surrounded Aug. 17’s announcement of Connor Zilisch to Hendrick’s NASCAR Cup Series No. 48 beginning with the 2028 season.

The 2026 season is Day’s first full-time effort in O’Reilly. The 20-year-old has two wins, six top fives and 15 top 10s, sitting fifth in points.

Day debuted in the series in 2025 with Hendrick, earning one top five and two top 10s in 11 starts.

  1. Good. Will give him another year to figure out that a NASCAR race is more than 30 laps long. (His excuse for causing wrecks right after the start of the race.)
