O’Reilly Chicagoland Qualifying Canceled, Connor Zilisch on Pole

Due to a storm in the area, the practice session for the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, originally scheduled for Friday (July 3), has been moved to Saturday, July 4 at 1:30 p.m. ET, replacing the time slot originally set for O’Reilly Series qualifying. Thus, the field will now line up in accordance to NASCAR’s qualifying metric scores.

Connor Zilisch will start on the pole in the JR Motorsports No. 1 Chevrolet. To his outside will be Brent Crews.

The second row will feature Carson Kvapil in third and Corey Day in fourth. Parker Retzlaff rounds out the first five.

Jesse Love will line up in sixth. Anthony Alfredo and Sheldon Creed will roll off seventh and eighth, respectively. Sam Mayer and Sammy Smith will complete the top 10 starters.

Of note, there are three former winners at Chicagoland in the O’Reilly Series entered for Saturday. Chase Elliott, Justin Allgaier and Cole Custer will start 11th, 17th and 21st, respectively.

With 38 cars entered for 38 spots, every team entered will be in the race.
