Denny Hamlin Captures Pole at Pocono

Denny Hamlin continues his hot streak, winning his second consecutive pole. Hamlin set the fastest qualifying time on Saturday (May 13) at Pocono Raceway, and will start at the front of the field in search of his third consecutive race win.

This is the third time in as many races that Hamlin will start first, as he started up front at Nashville weeks ago due to qualifying being rained out before winning the pole last week at Michigan.

Hamlin has now tied Ryan Newman for ninth most poles in Cup Series history, with 51 after today.

Kyle Larson will start second in search of his first win at the tricky triangle. Daniel Suarez and Ty Gibbs fill row two, with last year’s Pocono winner Chase Briscoe rounding out the top five.

Chris Buescher qualified sixth. The pair of Legacy Motor Club Toyotas, Erik Jones and John Hunter Nemechek, qualified seventh and eighth, respectively.

William Byron qualified ninth, and two-time Pocono winner Ryan Blaney takes the last spot in the top ten.
