Brandon Jones will lead the field to the green for Saturday’s (June 13) NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event at Pocono Raceway. With a lap time of 164.576 mph (54.686 seconds), it is Jones’ first pole of the season. In addition, it is Toyota’s 200th pole in the now O’Reilly Series.
Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Taylor Gray locks out the front row for the organization, with a time less than a tenth of a second off of Jones.
JR Motorsports owns third through sixth, with William Byron qualifying third, Justin Allgaier in fourth, Sammy Smith in fifth and Carson Kvapil in sixth.
Sam Mayer set the seventh fastest time, and will start on the inside of the fourth row. To his outside, 18-year-old Brent Crews makes his first trip to the Tricky Triangle. Ryan Sieg and William Sawalich round out the top 10.
Defending race winner Connor Zilisch will start 14th, and Cole Custer, the only multi-time Pocono O’Reilly Series winner, will start in the rear due to failing to set a time.
With 38 cars entered for 38 spots, everyone entered has made the race.
