IndyCar Sonsio Grand Prix Qualifying Postponed to Saturday

Friday’s (May 8) qualifying session for the NTT IndyCar Series Sonsio Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course was postponed until Saturday due to rain.

Scheduled for 10:30 a.m. ET, the session will replace the normal morning warm up that is routinely held on the day of the race at road and street courses.

While the series does have wet tires, conditions didn’t improve enough for cars to make runs over the 2.439-mile road course. With the IMS oval being less porous than the road course, pooling water on the frontstretch was of particular concern.

Coverage will start at 10:30 a.m. ET on FS2, before moving to FS2 at 11:30 a.m.
