Rise Racing team owner Tim Goulet has been indefinitely suspended by the ARCA Menards Series, according to a penalty statement on the series website.
“Based on violation of 2026 ARCA Rulebook Section 12-8.1 which references ARCA Member Conduct Guidelines, ARCA Menards Series Driver/Owner Tim Goulet has been suspended for an indefinite period of time,” the statement reads.
“The statement speaks for itself,” ARCA Communications Manager Charles Krall told Frontstretch regarding the matter.
The suspension comes due to an off-the-track matter involving Tim and Rita Goulet, who previously owned Rise Motorsports as a married couple.
“We went to retrieve team assets in South Carolina, which Tim had previously hidden, and he assaulted me,” Rita told Frontstretch.
As a result of the charges, Tim has a warrant in S.C., and he plans to head there on Monday, March 23, to resolve it. Due to his warrant, the series suspended him, the Goulets stated.
“It’s defamation of character from a husband-wife spat,” Tim told Frontstretch. “This is Rita trying to get everything out of me and using this as leverage. She is spiteful and wants to play stupid games. This is irreparable harm done by Rita to me.”
“Tim’s outstanding warrant is the reason for his suspension, and it has nothing to do with our division of the team assets,” Rita added. “The distribution of team assets will be handled in court. I hope that Tim receives the mental health help that he needs.”
The Goulets confirmed they are divorcing.
In its existence, Rise Motorsports had five top 10s in 51 total series starts. Rita has 32 platform starts and Tim has 14.
In 2026, the duo split into two different teams.
Tim founded Rise Racing, which changed its number from the original Rise No. 31 to No. 89. Bobby Dale Earnhardt is competing full time. After two national division races, Earnhardt is 11th in points with one top 10, a ninth-place finish in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. In the owner points standings, the No. 89 is 13th.
It is unknown whether Goulet’s suspension will impact Rise’s ability to field Earnhardt in the next main-series race at Kansas Speedway, set to take place on Saturday, April 18.
Rita teamed up with Brian Weber to form Integrity Autosports, which will compete in at least the first two ARCA Menards Series East races at Hickory Motor Speedway and Rockingham Speedway. Weber will pilot the No. 13 Toyota in those two races.
Mark Kristl joined Frontstretch at the beginning of the 2019 NASCAR season. He is the site's ARCA Menards Series editor. Kristl is also an Eagle Scout and a proud University of Dayton alum.
