Chandler Smith Attempting Daytona 500 in 4th FRM Car

Front Row Motorsports will field a fourth car in the Daytona 500 for Chandler Smith, FRM announced Jan. 22.

Smith will attempt to qualify for the season-opening NASCAR Cup Series race in an open car, the No. 36.

It’s the second year in a row that Smith is looking to make the 500. In 2025, he attempted the event with Garage 66 but failed to qualify.

He also failed to qualify for the event in 2023.

Smith was previously announced to be back with FRM in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for 2026. In 2025, he scored two wins, five top fives and 16 top 10s en route to an eighth-place finish in points.
