Comparing the Difference Between a NASCAR Next Gen & Older Lug Nut

AUSTIN, Texas – One of the biggest changes from the old NASCAR Cup Series car to the Next Gen car is the lug nut system used.

During Circuit of the Americas race weekend (March 26), Frontstretch‘s Jared Haas compares the size of two lug nuts, the cost and explains why some teams are losing their tires with the Next Gen lug nut.

  1. the one lug system seems unsafe, if the wheels keep coming off, one is going to be hit by a car and it will go flying into the stands, ugly look and unsafe
