The NASCAR Xfinity Series’ return to the track will have to wait two more days, as relentless rain delayed the Toyota 200 at Darlington Raceway on Tuesday evening (May 19) before outright postponing it.
Tuesday night’s scheduled race was initially moved up from an 8 p.m. ET starting time to a 6 p.m. ET green flag, but the two-hour change didn’t make a difference. Heavy rains persisted at the Track Too Tough to Tame throughout the afternoon, and the radar didn’t appear to be clearing up anytime soon to get the race in later in the evening.
Originally the middle race of three NASCAR events this week at Darlington, the Toyota 200 will now get underway shortly after noon ET on Thursday, May 21. It will air on FOX Sports 1. This event marks the series’ first time back in action since the COVID-19 pandemic halted the season back in March.
Noah Gragson drew the pole position for Thursday’s race. Brandon Jones is the series’ most recent winner and will roll off eighth after the random draw for starting spots.
