Race Weekend Central

Entry List: FireKeepers Casino 400

This weekend, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Michigan International Speedway for the 15th race of the 2018 season.  39 cars are on this weekend’s entry list, meaning everyone who shows up will race, and nobody will go home.  Not much has changed since last week with the exception for a few changes.

Matt Kenseth once again returns to the No. 6 car for Roush-Fenway Racing for his 4th consecutive race in that car.  Kenseth scored a season-best 13th place finish at Pocono Raceway last weekend.

Reed Sorenson is listed as the driver of the No. 07 car for Premium Motorsports this weekend.  The team has run two cars several times this season, the other car being the No. 15 of Ross Chastain.

Timmy Hill takes the wheel of the No. 66 car for Motorsports Business Management this weekend for his 6th MENCS start of the year.

Corey LaJoie returns to the No. 72 car for Tri-Star Motorsports after Cole Whitt scored a 30th place finish at Pocono for the team.

The most notable change to this weekend’s entry list is Garrett Smithley, who will make his MENCS debut driving the No. 99 car for StarCom Racing.  Currently, he runs full time for JD Motorsports in the Xfinity Series where he sits 19th in the points standings in his 3rd full time season for the team.  Smithley has a best finish of 5th at Daytona this season, and 4 career top 10’s in his three seasons.

Cars will hit the track for the first time this weekend on Friday June 8th at 11:35 A.M. est with coverage on FoxSports 1.  The green flag waves on Sunday June 10th at approximately 2:18 P.M. est with coverage on FOX.

No Derrike Cope so Brian can’t use him to bring out a caution flag. He did his job at Pocono.
