For the third time in first four races of The Chase, NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying were canceled due to weather, putting Joey Logano on the pole for Sunday’s (Sept. 27) race at Kansas Speedway.
Logano won last weekend’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway and with the metric’s formula, his win shot him right up to the front row where he’ll start alongside points leader Kyle Larson.
Christopher Bell, Carson Hocevar and Ty Gibbs make up the rest of the top five starting spots.
Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace, William Byron, Ryan Preece and Josh Berry will start in the sixth to 10th positions.
The remaining seven Chase drivers that will start outside the top 10 are Austin Cindric (11th), Chris Buescher (12th), Daniel Suarez (14th), Tyler Reddick (15th), Chase Elliott (18th), Chase Briscoe (23rd) and Ryan Blaney (25th).
With no open entries, the field will only consist of the 36 chartered full-time teams.
Kansas Chase Race Starting Lineup
The Hollywood Casino 400 from Kansas Speedway, the 30th race of the season and the fourth Chase race, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Sept. 27, with coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET on USA.
