Alex Tagliani, Erik Jones Pace 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 250 Practices at CTMP

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams had two practices on Saturday to dial in their trucks for qualifying and the race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. When the red and black flags flew to end practice, road-course ace Alex Tagliani and Erik Jones were at the top of the leaderboard in both sessions.

The first practice was relatively calm with few incidents. Tagliani, driving the No. 29 for Brad Keselowski Racing, was fastest with a time of 80.584 seconds. In last year’s running of the Chevrolet Silverado 250, the No. 29 truck went to victory lane with Ryan Blaney.

Jones was second fastest at 81.277 seconds. Matt Crafton was third fastest (81.294 seconds), followed by Ben Kennedy (81.526 seconds) and Gray Gaulding (81.582 seconds). NCWTS points leader Tyler Reddick was seventh fastest (81.847 seconds) and was the final driver to post a time below 82 seconds.

Jones was able to best Tagliani in the last minutes of final practice. Jones ran a speed of 110. 436 mph, the fastest speed of the day. After Tagliani in second, Thorsport Racing teammates Cameron Hayley and Johnny Sauter were third and fourth fastest. Ben Kennedy completed the top five with a speed of 110.132 mph. Crafton was not far behind in sixth (110.011 mph) and Reddick was 10th fastest (109.694 mph).

Second practice was much more eventful than the first, with several drivers having issues. Sauter spun early on in the final practice but did not hit anything and was able to continue on. The same could not be said for Jennifer Jo Cobb and John Wes Townley, who both made contact with the tire barriers and will have to go to backup cars for qualifying Saturday evening.

Qualifying can be seen at 5:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 2, and the 15th race of the NCWTS season can be seen tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
