Layne Riggs Claims Truck Pole at New Hampshire

Layne Riggs’ scorching summer stretch shows no signs of stopping.

Riggs set the fastest qualifying time Friday evening (Aug. 21) at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, clocking in at more than two tenths faster than second-place Kaden Honeycutt. it is Riggs’ fourth pole of the season, with all of them coming in his last five starts.

Gio Ruggiero qualified third. A pair of Spire Motorsports trucks, Connor Zilisch and Tristan McKee, rounded out the top five.

Daniel Hemric set the sixth-fastest time. Gavan Boschele will start seventh, while Grant Enfinger qualified eighth. Two ThorSport Racing trucks, Jake Garcia and Ben Rhodes, rounded out the top 10.

With 41 trucks competing for 36 spots on Friday, there were five trucks that did not qualify. They were Derek White, D.L. Wilson, Dawson Sutton, Mason Massey, and Luke Baldwin.

Television coverage for the Team EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will begin on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 1:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.

  1. Sexism in nascar again. Toni Breidinger the only woman racing in top 3 series shunted aside for male driver.
