After many years away, it seems the NASCAR Cup Series’ season-opening Clash could be back at its usual digs.
According to The Athletic, multiple sources have told the publication that the exhibition race will be back at Daytona International Speedway for 2027.
An additional source has told Frontstretch information that corroborates this report.
In the past half-decade, NASCAR has experimented with different venues and track layouts for the Clash, including the Daytona road course configuration in 2021, racing inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the three following iterations and at Bowman-Gray Stadium for the two most recent seasons.
This news comes within weeks of NASCAR announcing a new superspeedway engine and aerodynamics package. The Clash, often known for being an experimental race for NASCAR, will give it more data on the new package.
NASCAR has not yet announced the move officially.
