Andy Street Named Crew Chief for Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch will have a new, yet familiar, crew chief effective immediately. Andy Street will be atop the pit box in the NASCAR Cup Series, Richard Childress Racing announced on Monday, April 27.

Street served as Performance Director for the team this year. Busch’s former crew chief, Jim Pohlman, will step into a leadership role in RCR’s competition department.

“This move is about putting our people in the best position to succeed,” Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of RCR, said in a team release. “We have strong talent across this organization, and we’re focused on having each person in the right position to help deliver the results we expect.”

Busch just earned his (and RCR’s) first top 10 of the season at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday. However, he has struggled overall, sitting 27th in the series standings; teammate Austin Dillon is 24th.

Street was Busch’s crew chief in the final five races of the season last year. He also served in the position for Austin Hill and Jesse Love this year.

Prior to that, Street was Myatt Snider‘s crew chief in 2021 in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and Hill’s from 2022-2024, leading them to 11 total wins.
