Joey Logano Keeps Penske Rolling, Captures Cup Pole at Phoenix

It’s a Team Penske sweep for the pole position in the desert this weekend.

After David Malukas took the pole in NTT IndyCar Series qualifying March 6, Joey Logano followed that up by claiming the top spot for NASCAR Cup Series qualifying at Phoenix Raceway.

It is Logano’s third career pole at Phoenix, where he is a four-time winner at the track. He enters Sunday’s race tied for fifth in points with Shane van Gisbergen.

Kyle Larson will start alongside him on the front row, while Austin Cindric, Daniel Suarez and Ryan Blaney round out the top five starting positions.

Ross Chastain and Carson Hocevar will start sixth and seventh, respectively, while Tyler Reddick, who is aiming for four straight wins to start the season, will start in eighth. William Byron and Josh Berry round out the top 10.
