Despite being announced as a full-time driver in the ARCA Menards Series, Leland Honeyman will now contest a part-time slate, Nitro Motorsports announced on January 26.
Honeyman will drive the No. 15 Toyota instead of his originally announced No. 20.
The team also confirmed the No. 15 will be a full-time entry, joining the Nos. 20, 25, 55, and 70.
“The focused schedule reflects a collaborative approach between Honeyman and Nitro Motorsports as the organization continues to build toward sustained success in 2026 and beyond,” Nitro announced in the press release. “Honeyman remains a key part of Nitro Motorsports’ driver lineup and long-term vision.”
Honeyman joined the organization after primarily competing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series for the past two years. Honeyman has run eight ARCA main series races, including three in 2025, logging three top fives and five top 10s. He finished third in the ARCA Menards Series East point standings in 2022.
“This is about being intentional with our opportunities and putting ourselves in the best position to win,” Honeyman said. “My goal has always been to compete full-time at the highest level, and this approach allows me to pour everything into each race I enter. I’m excited to make the most of every start in the No. 15 and continue proving what I’m capable of.”
“Leland has shown tremendous work ethic, maturity, and commitment,” team owner Nick Tucker added. “This focused program allows us to align resources, sharpen our competitive efforts, and give Leland the platform to deliver strong results. He remains an important part of our future, and we believe this approach sets everyone up for success.”
The team also stated that another full-time driver will be added to the roster to drive the No. 20. Jake Bollman drove the No. 20 in the series preseason test at Daytona International Speedway.
Isabella Robusto and Thomas Annunziata will pilot the Nos. 55 and 70 full time for Nitro in 2026.
While the team did not specify the number of races in which Honeyman will be competing, he will not compete in the season opener at Daytona. In addition to the team’s two full-time announced drivers and another to be revealed for the No. 20, Nitro will have Jake Finch in the No. 15, Gus Dean in the No. 25, and Wesley Slimp in the No. 90.
