Kyle Busch won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway Feb. 22 in a photo finish over Stewart Friesen.
Busch and Friesen raced side by side down the backstretch on the final lap, and the two stayed that way all the way to the finish line. Unofficially Busch beat Friesen by seventeen-thousandths of a second.
“Awesome run for this Spire Chevrolet and everybody at Gainbridge,” Busch told FOX Sports 1 after the race. “Proud that we had a heck of a race there to the finish and it wasn’t single file. There was some mixing it up for these fans out here to see a cool show.”
Behind Busch and Friesen, Tyler Ankrum, Bayley Currey and Chandler Smith rounded out the top five.
Kaden Honeycutt, Ben Rhodes, Ty Majeski, Jake Garcia and Grant Enfinger rounded out the top 10.
Busch started ninth and drove up to the front quickly, winning stage two and also leading the most laps on the day with 80. Polesitter Connor Mosack led the second most, spending 30 laps in front of the field.
The biggest incident of the day occurred on lap 74, when Busch’s Spire Motorsports teammate Rajah Caruth spun in turn 4 while running second, collecting multiple trucks including Daniel Hemric, Andres Perez and William Sawalich.
