Helio Castroneves will contest the ARCA Menards Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway with Pinnacle Racing Group, Trackhouse Racing announced Jan. 8.
The start comes in advance of his first attempt at the Daytona 500 for Trackhouse that week.
Castroneves will drive the No. 82, a companion car to PRG’s full-time entry, the No. 28, for Brenden Queen.
“I am looking forward to ARCA racing,” Castroneves said in a team release “I think getting as much seat time as possible will help in our preparation for the Daytona 500, plus I have watched ARCA races in the past on television and they look like a lot of fun.”
Castroneves will also look to qualify his way into the Daytona 500 with Trackhouse’s No. 91, as announced earlier this week.
Daytona marks Castroneves’ first ARCA attempt.
