Live Fast Motorsports Sells Charter to Spire Motorsports

Live Fast Motorsports will announce the sale of its sole NASCAR Cup Series charter to Spire Motorsports, the team confirmed to Frontstretch.

The announcement is set to take place before Saturday (Sept. 16) night’s Bristol Motor Speedway night race.

The driver of the team’s newly acquired third entry has yet to be announced.

The Athletic first reported the transaction, saying the charter sold for around $40 million.

The deal will leave Live Fast with no charters on its team after it had originally acquired it in 2021, while Spire will acquire its third.

The sale arrived with only eight races left in the Cup Series 2023 season in which Live Fast has earned no top 10s and a best finish of 18th at Talladega Superspeedway with its main driver and team co-owner BJ McLeod. The organization sits 36th in the owner’s points.

Spire Motorsports has earned one top five and two top 10s in 2023 with its No. 7 driver Corey LaJoie earning both of them. LaJoie is the only driver to be confirmed to be driving for Spire in 2024.

Both of its cars sit 27th and 33rd in the owner’s points with LaJoie and Ty Dillon, respectively.
