The 2019 NASCAR Monster Energy All-Star Open will be held just before this year’s All-Star Race on Saturday, May 18, to determine which drivers will move on to the big event.
The Open has three stages, and the winners of these stages — along with the NASCAR Fan Vote winner — will join the 15 drivers already in the All-Star field. For the Open, 23 drivers will attempt to qualify for the big event, barring any entry list changes.
Hendrick Motorsports drivers William Byron and Alex Bowman will try to race their way in, with Bowman coming off a hot streak of three consecutive second-place finishes.
Other contenders to watch in this year’s Open include JTG Daugherty Racing’s Chris Buescher and Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Both are coming off of good runs at Kansas Speedway.
Paul Menard, Daniel Suarez, Kyle Larson and Matt DiBenedetto are among other drivers to watch in the event.
The full entry list can be found here.
The 2019 Monster Energy All-Star Open will air on FOX Sports 1 at 6 p.m./et.
