Erik Jones, Brandon Jones Pick Up XYO Sponsorship

Joe Gibbs Racing announced Wednesday (April 18) it has signed XYO Network as a multi-race primary sponsor for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series team of Erik Jones and the XFINITY Series team of Brandon Jones.

XYO Network is a location-data company with over 8 million location beacons in its GPS network.

“We are in a race to build the future and bring blockchain technology to the real world through practical applications that will become the foundation of smart cities across the world,” said XYO Network co-founder Markus Levin in a press release. “A partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing provides a tremendous platform for sharing the exciting technology we offer.”

XYO will be on the MENCS No. 20 Toyota Camry of Erik Jones for two races, at Talladega Superspeedway on April 29 and Dover International Speedway on May 6. Jones currently sits 13th in the MENCS standings with 209 points; he has four top 10s already this season, with a season-best finish of fourth at Texas Motor Speedway.

XYO will be on the XFINITY No. 19 Toyota Camry of Brandon Jones for six races this season. Those races will be at Talladega on April 28, Dover on May 5, Pocono Raceway on June 2, Michigan International Speedway on June 9, Iowa Speedway on June 17 and New Hampshire International Speedway on July 21. Brandon Jones is in his third full-time XFINITY season, with a best 2018 finish of sixth at  Bristol Motor Speedway. He has three top 10s this season and is ninth in the XFINITY standings with 193 points.

“We’re excited to partner with XYO Network and join them in the race to bring blockchain technology to real world application through their advanced location services,” Coy Gibbs, chief operating officer of Joe Gibbs Racing, said. “Much like us in racing, their technology is about staying ahead of the competition with speed and precision.”
