Not much has changed in this week’s entry list for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway versus last weekend’s race at Atlanta. 37 entries will hit the track this weekend, meaning everyone will qualify for the race. The one extra entry this week will be a second car for Premium Motorsports, the No. 55 driven by Joey Gase, who will make his season debut.
Gase currently drives the No. 35 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series full time for owner Archie St. Hillaire. This weekend will mark Gase’s 23rd career Cup start with his most recent one coming at the Homestead-Miami Speedway last season for BK Racing.
Perhaps the biggest change in this week’s list though will be Cole Custer’s Cup debut for Rick Ware Racing in the No. 51 Ford. Custer is currently running his second season in the XFINITY Series for Stewart-Haas Racing where he has one career win.
“This is a dream come true to compete in the Cup Series,” said Custer in a team release last week. “I can’t thank Rick Ware Racing and Haas Automation enough for the opportunity to race at Las Vegas. It’s going to be a new experience for me, but I feel that we can have a productive day by completing all the laps and seeing the checkered flag.”
