The final race in the Round of 12 for the Chase for the Sprint Cup brings the series to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.
As of Monday, there are 43 cars entered, meaning three will not make the race, barring any entry list updates.
David Gilliland will attempt to make his third race of 2016 this weekend. He has entered the three previous restrictor plate races this season in the No. 35 Front Row Motorsports car. He competed at Talladega in May and Daytona in July, but failed to qualify for the Daytona 500. His best result of 17th came at Talladega.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Earnhardt will climb behind the wheel of the No. 83 car for BK Racing this weekend for his first start for the organization and his 18th in 2016. This will also be his first career Sprint Cup start at Talladega.
With Earnhardt in the No. 83, Matt DiBenedetto will be in the No. 93 and need to make the field based on his qualifying time. He was faced with the same task at Daytona in February and Richmond last month and was able to make the race.
Roush Fenway Racing will enter a fourth car on Sunday for NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Ryan Reed. Reed will pilot the No. 99 for his first career Sprint Cup start. He has 102 XFINITY Series starts, including three at Talladega.
Action from Talladega begins on Friday with two practice sessions, the first at 2 p.m. followed by final practice at 4:30 p.m. (all times ET). Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. Coverage of the Alabama 500 will begin Sunday at 2 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
