Roughly an hour following the conclusion of the inaugural Chase race for the Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR officials announced that the No. 8 truck of John Hunter Nemechek failed post-race inspection.
Nemechek crossed the finish line ninth, rebounding from a Lap 53 spin underneath Kaz Grala. At the time of the spin, the NEMCO Motorsports team was in 13th position.
Two races remain before the cutoff of round one at Talladega in late October and Nemechek sits fourth in the championship standings, five points above Ben Kennedy who is seventh in the standings.
Any penalties will be announced early next week.
