Bringing the Heat: Jeb Burton, the Elder Statesman Trying to Close the Gap

On this episode of Bringing the Heat with Trey Lyle, Michael Massie chats with NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Jeb Burton, reflecting on a conversation recorded a few weeks ago at Bristol Motor Speedway. Massie and Burton discuss his season, the recent growth in speed his Jordan Anderson Racing team has seen since Indianapolis Motor Speedway, his role as an elder statesman in the series and the race he and his dad are hosting at South Boston Speedway in November.

The interview concludes with a role reversal as Burton takes over the microphone to question Massie.

Following the Burton conversation, Trey Lyle is joined by Tanner Marlar to break down the latest news and notes, including the surprising announcement that Brad Keselowski is leaving Roush Fenway Keselowski and the No. 6 car after this season. The hosts discuss the reasons behind the move and the potential future for both Keselowski and RFK Racing.

The episode also covers Erik Jones staying at Legacy Motor Club, Tony Stewart’s return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driving the No. 25 truck for Kaulig Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing shutting down its ARCA program.

Denny Hamlin takes center stage for the “Soundbite of the Week,” and Lyle and Marlar analyze the latest playoff standings, debating who the true championship contenders are with six races remaining in the season.
