This weekend, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge teams take on the four mile long circuit known as Road America. It should be an interesting race. The updated entry lists for both races are out.
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
Currently, 44 cars are listed on the entry list, eight Prototypes, a season-high nine Prototype Challenge cars, ten GT Le Mans cars and 17 GT Daytona entries. 41 are expected to race.
With the Prototypes returning to the track, Sean Rayhall goes back to his normal gig with Panoz DeltaWing Racing. Starworks Motorsport has drafted in Gustavo Yacaman to replace him. Also, Bruno Junqueira is back in PC and BAR1 Motorsports, as previously reported, is running two cars.
Alex Job Racing has a new entry, the No. 77 Porsche that will be shared by Gunnar Jeannette and David MacNeil. David MacNeil is the father of full-timer Cooper MacNeil and the CEO of WeatherTech, the series’ title sponsor. Finally, Sportscar365.com is reporting that Black Swan Racing has suspended operations recently after the death of team owner Tim Pappas‘ father. As a result, they will not be in Wisconsin.

Currently, 37 cars are listed on the entry list, but 36 will start on Saturday. Grand Sport is up to ten entries, the most in quite a while with the return of Muehlner Motorsports America‘s Porsche Cayman GT4. Automatic Racing has their second entry, the No. 09, on-site with the pairing of Al Carter and Andrew Hobbs, grandson of David Hobbs.
Guy Cosmo has joined Team TGM for the rest of the season as a teammate to owner Ted Giovanis. The team tends to practice both cars and race whichever one is fastest. Also, CJ Wilson Racing has Justin Piscitell in the No. 35 this week as regular driver Tyler McQuarrie has a drifting conflict.
Street Tuner sees James Vance out at MINI Team JCW. Mark Pombo has returned to the No. 37 after missing the last two races due to business priorities. Kyle Gimple is back in Compass360 Racing‘s No. 75 Audi S3 after being temporarily replaced by Tom Dyer. There are also additional driver changes with some of the smaller operations.
