When the NASCAR XFINITY Series takes the green flag in a few short hours, it’ll be the series winning driver that leads the way.
Kyle Busch‘s 28.828-second lap edged out Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Daniel Suarez by .003 seconds to claim the Coors Light Pole for Friday’s ALSCO 300 at Kentucky Speedway.
Erik Jones followed in third to give JGR a 1-2-3 performance, with Austin Dillon and Elliott Sadler rounding out the top five. Ryan Blaney, Ryan Reed, Cole Custer, Blake Koch and defending race winner Brad Keselowski rounded out the top 10.
Darrell Wallace, Jr. ended the round in 11th, with underdog Ryan Sieg continuing momentum from a third-place finish at Daytona International Speedway to make the final round of qualifying and slot in 12th.
Championship hopeful Ty Dillon was the lone driver to find issue during the session. Dillon was navigating turn 4 of the 1.5-mile oval when his machine slid up into the outside wall. Dillon will keep his primary machine, but will be required to start from the rear after unapproved changes.
Coverage for the XFINITY Series ALSCO 300 will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
