The final practice session of the weekend at Michigan International Speedway has come to a close with Austin Dillon atop the charts.
Dillon’s 194.301 mph lap early in the session held through the hour to top the final practice for Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at MIS. Now in his third year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Dillon will look for his first-career victory at the two-mile oval.
Brad Keselowski led the way for Ford with a 194.013 mph circuit to take second. Jimmie Johnson, Trevor Bayne and Kurt Busch completed the top five, with Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, Joey Logano and A.J. Allmendinger rounding out the top 10.
Getting their last on-track experience with the lower downforce package before Sunday’s 400-mile race, many of the teams elected to take multiple runs in the session. In all, 23 of the 38 drivers that ran in the session completed more than 30 laps. Chase Elliott made the most circuits during the session, completing 47 laps in the hour.
The Cup Series will return on Sunday for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at 1 p.m. ET.
