On Thursday, Kenny Wallace announced on his own Twitter feed that he has been tapped to drive the No. 20 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. Naturally, the 51-year old veteran is very excited about the opportunity.
I just received a BIG HONOR; "Kenny Wallace will drive the #20 car in the @NASCAR_XFINITY series at @iowaspeedway YESSSSS!!"

The standalone race is scheduled for Aug. 1, the same weekend that the Sprint Cup Series makes its second visit of the year to Pocono Raceway. No mention has been made of sponsorship for Wallace’s effort in the No. 20. In recent years, Wallace has run in the event for RAB Racing with Brack Maggard with backing from race sponsor U.S. Cellular.
Wallace has eight career Xfinity Series starts at Iowa Speedway. Those eight starts have resulted in three top-10 finishes. His best run at Iowa was a sixth-place finish in May, 2011.
