Richard Petty Motorsports, Biagi-DenBeste Racing Continue XFINITY Partnership

Richard Petty Motorsports and Biagi-DenBeste Motorsports have announced that the two organizations will continue their partnership in the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season. The partnership began in September 2014 at Chicagoland Speedway. The partnership will continue through the 2015 season.

Aric Almirola and Sam Hornish, Jr., Petty’s Cup Series drivers, will drive the No. 98 Ford in the first three XFINTY Series races in 2015. The team will run 16 races in 2015, presumably with Hornish and Almirola continuing to fill out the schedule.

“The Biagi-DenBenste Racing team have been great to work with,” said Sammy Johns, team director of competition . “They prepare good cars with good people. I really believe having Aric and Sam on the track throughout the weekend gives us an advantage on Sunday. Also, I believe they can win races for this team. It’s a beneficial partnership for everyone involved.”

Almirola drove the car in the season opening Alert Florida Today 300 at Daytona International Speedway, finishing seventh. He will be in the car again next weekend at Las Vegas.

Hornish takes over the No. 98 Ford this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“We have seen that Aric can race at the front of the field and compete for wins with us,” added Fred Biagi, co-owner of Biagi-DenBeste Racing. “Adding Sam to our race schedule only allows us more opportunities to be successful. We’re proud to have experienced drivers who can bring immediate success to our team. It provides great value to our sponsors who partner with us each weekend.”

The team used five different drivers in 15 races in the 2014 season, finishing 33rd in 2014 NASCAR XFINITY Series points.
