Ryan Reed to Run NASCAR K&N Pro East Series Race this Weekend at Watkin’s Glen

Roush Fenway Racing announced on Tuesday that Ryan Reed will run both the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and NASCAR Nationwide series events this weekend at Watkin’s Glen International. Reed will drive the No. 99 Ford for Bill McAnally Racing in the East event, before running his familiar No. 16 American Diabetes Association Drive to Stop DiabetesSM presented by Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang in the Nationwide Series event.

Reed is one of the drivers who is in contention for the 2014 Rookie of the Year title in the Nationwide Series. RFR feels that running the East race will give Reed some valuable experience heading into the Nationwide Series event.

“With this being my first trip to Watkins Glen, I’m thankful for the opportunity to get some extra seat time,” Reed said.  “I think both Drive to Stop Diabetes Fords will be fast this weekend.  We ran really well at the first road course race this season, and I’m hopeful that will translate to this weekend.”

Reed currently sits ninth in points, with one top 10 so far this year. Reed finished 21st earlier this year at Road America.
