Patrick Sheltra to Return to NASCAR Competition at Talladega

TOLEDO, Ohio – One year ago on ARCA’s finale weekend, Patrick Sheltra was sawing at the wheel of his No. 60 machine en route to the 2010 ARCA Racing Series title. One year later, Sheltra was in the garage for ARCA’s closer at Toledo, but not as a driver; rather, the defending champion is here working alongside the crew of his family-owned race team on Milka Duno‘s No. 63 entry.

Sheltra, who has made only two starts between NASCAR and ARCA in 2011, will be making his return to the track next week Frontstretch has learned. Sheltra will be driving the truck typically driven by Bryan Silas at Talladega next Saturday (Oct. 22). No word on whether the entry will be fielded under the No. 09 or 99, both of which Silas has wheeled in 2011.

Sheltra’s last major start was at the Berlin Raceway earlier in the summer, where he finished fourth driving in relief for the injured Maryeve Dufault.
