Sheldon Creed will drive for Sam Hunt Racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starting in 2027, the team announced Oct. 3.
Creed has joined the team in what’s been announced as a multiyear deal.
Creed will leave Haas Factory Team to drive the No. 26 Toyota Supra, which is currently driven by Dean Thompson, who is leaving for Haas at the end of the season.
“It was not my first choice to move on, but sometimes business dictates otherwise,” Creed said in an Oct. 3 press conference at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “I owe success now to the No. 00 team; I’ve had the most fun I’ve had in the last five years now.”
In the 2026 NOAPS season, Creed has three wins, 12 top fives and 19 top-10 finishes with a pole through the first 27 races of the campaign. He currently leads the series standings.
“Having a guy like Sheldon make a home with us in the Toyota family was the move I needed to make,” team owner Sam Hunt said. “It’s the logical next step for our race team.”
Per an SHR release, an announcement regarding its No. 24 will be made at a later time. Harrison Burton currently pilots the car.
