Joey Logano Scores Cup Pole at Gateway

Joey Logano will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to green on Sunday (Sept. 13) at World Wide Technology Raceway after an impressive qualifying lap that got him the pole position by nearly three tenths of a second.

It’s Logano’s second pole of the season and the 35th of his Cup career. It’s also his first pole at WWTR, a track he won at back in 2022.

Kyle Larson will share the front row with Logano. Then it’s Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, and Chase Briscoe making up the rest of the top five starting spots.

Carson Hocevar, Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott, Ty Gibbs and Denny Hamlin will start in the sixth to 10th spots, respectively. All drivers inside the top 10 are Chase drivers competing for the championship.

The other six Chase drivers to start outside the top 10 are Austin Cindric (13th), Ryan Preece (14th), Daniel Suarez (15th), Tyler Reddick (18th), Chris Buescher (21st) and William Byron (24th).

With only 36 entries, no drivers failed to qualify.
