The NASCAR Cup Series made its long-awaited return to Chicagoland Speedway for Sunday’s (July 5) running of the eero 400, where Chase Briscoe scored the victory for Toyota in a historic day for the manufacturer, putting seven of its cars in the top 10 for the first time in the company’s history.
Stock Car Scoop host Eric Schneck breaks down Sunday’s running of the eero 400, which includes Briscoe scoring his first victory of the 2026 season, Connor Zilisch and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad season that continued with a lap 1 incident, Austin Hill vs. Shane van Gisbergen, Kyle Larson self-spinning and Tyler Reddick radiator destruction.
Joining Schneck are Frontstretch reporters Stephen Stumpf and Tanner Marlar, who give their thoughts on the weekend action from Chicagoland.
Closing out this week, Schneck takes a look at the NASCAR Cup Series point standings as well as a peek ahead to Echopark Speedway in Atlanta next week.
