Marcus Armstrong will be back with Meyer Shank Racing in 2027 and beyond, the team announced Friday (July 2). He will move from the No. 66 Honda to MSR’s No. 60 car with that ride vacated by Felix Rosenqvist at the end of the 2026 season.
“I want to thank Mike [Shank], Jim [Meyer], Tim [Meyer] and Helio [Castroneves] for this opportunity and for believing in me. I feel that Meyer Shank Racing gives me one of the strongest cars on the grid every weekend,” Armstrong stated in a press release.
The 25-year-old New Zealander sits 11th in the standings, coming close to a win at the Indianapolis 500 and Road America in 2026, but is still searching for his first IndyCar race victory.
“Since joining the team, Marcus has really shown that he is a top contender, something that is not easy to do in this field,” team owner Mike Shank said in a press release. “His work ethic, feedback, and determination to improve every weekend make him exactly the kind of driver you want to build around. We’ve seen tremendous growth from him, and we’re excited to continue that journey together starting in 2027.”
Rosenqvist announced his departure from the team in June. MSR will announce the plans for their second driver at a later date.
