Stock Car Scoop: That’s a Wrap on Cup Series Right Turns for 2026

Surprise, surprise: Another NASCAR Cup Series road course race, and another trip to victory lane for Shane van Gisbergen, this time at Sonoma Raceway for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 on Sunday (June 28).

Stock Car Scoop host Eric Schneck is joined by Frontstretch contributor and overall road course racing expert Michael Finley, where they discuss SVG’s eighth-career NASCAR Cup Series victory and if SVG is truly the greatest road course racer in NASCAR history. Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Denny Hamlin took the Cup Series points lead from Tyler Reddick. Also, Schneck and Finley take a look at the overall state of road course racing in the Cup Series in 2026.

Joining Schneck and Finley are Frontstretch trackside reporters Danny Peters and Thomas Dunn, who give their thoughts on a weekend full of action from the rolling hills of Wine Country.

Closing out the show, Schneck and Finley take a look at the official Stock Car Scoop NASCAR In-Season Challenge bracket, and they preview next weekend’s return to Chicagoland Speedway, where Alex Bowman won the last Cup Series race there in 2019.

There’s a lot to talk about and not a lot of time to do it. Check out Stock Car Scoop on Apple PodcastsSpotify, or wherever else you get your podcasts!
