Rise, race fans! ‘Tis almost time!
The Sunday before Memorial Day has been considered the greatest day in racing for some time. For many years, fans rose early and planted themselves to their couches to take in the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco, the Indianapolis 500 and the NASCAR Cup Series’ Coca-Cola 600, in that order.
Some things have changed, F1 will now be in Montreal instead of Monaco, rain has become a more frequent feature in Indianapolis, and so on and so forth. All the same, this remains the greatest day in racing and the Frontstretch open-wheel team has convened to take a look at the agenda. Kyle Benjamin hosts Alex Gintz, Christopher DeHarde, Michael Finley, Tom Blackburn and Wyatt Watson to run down the most pressing stories.
Will the weekend be derailed by rain? Will Alex Palou go back-to-back at the 500? What’s the status of Alexander Rossi? Is Esteban Ocon on the hot seat at Haas? These questions and more are on the menu as we speed toward Sunday, May 24.
