What’s the Weather Going to Be Like?
Friday’s weather is going to be very nice. The forecast is for partly cloudy skies with a high around 72°. Since the Truck race will be at night, temperatures will drop through the 60s during the race. It might be chilly enough for a sweater by the time the checkered flag flies.
Saturday’s forecast is for partly cloudy skies with a high around 80°. That high temperature will occur shortly before the Sport Clip Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 starts. It will fall during the race, but it’ll likely still be plenty warm by the end.
Sunday’s forecast is for partly cloudy skies, but with a little humidity mixed in. High temperatures will be close to 85°. There is a slight chance of rain, but not much.
All in all, it’s going to be really nice. Bring your sunscreen and a hat, though.
TV Ratings Check — Las Vegas
Ratings and viewership-wise, Las Vegas was definitely mixed. Sunday’s broadcast of the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube on FS1 earned a 1.44 rating with 2.771 million viewers. This is down 3% in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year’s race, which earned a 1.48 rating with 3.011 million viewership.
On the other hand, things were looking up for the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Saturday’s broadcast of The LiUNA! had 1.188 million viewers on The CW. This was up 8% from last year’s broadcast, which had 1.1 million viewers.
There is no Nielsen rating available for the full broadcast. The race did finish after 8 p.m. ET Saturday night, allowing for prime-time rating information for the final 10 minutes. At that point, the race had a .84 rating with 1.430 million viewers.
