Bringing the Heat: Brenden ‘Butterbean’ Queen Talks Trucks and Virginia Grassroots Racing

This week on Bringing the Heat with Trey Lyle, Brendan ‘Butterbean’ Queen joins Michael Massie ahead of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at EchoPark Speedway. Both Queen and the Kaulig Racing truck team are new additions to the series in 2026.

In his rookie season, Queen has already notched the first top-10 finish in RAM’s season debut. Queen explains how he got connected with Chris Rice and Kaulig Racing. As two Virginians, Massie and Queen also talk other Old Dominion drivers getting their chance in NASCAR.

After the interview, Massie and Lyle team up to review the biggest topics from the week. The two react to the newly released All-Star Race format for Dover Motor Speedway, which is vastly different from previous All Star events that featured an Open Race before the main event.

In other news this week, lawsuits are still a major topic. Massie looks at the Joe Gibbs Racing lawsuit versus Chris Gabehart from an outside perspective. He also speculates what sort of on-track impact the Gabehart move will have depending on the lawsuit.

This week’s Soundbite of the Week comes from Carson Hocevar, who walked through his view of the late-race restart that resulted in him turning Christopher Bell on Sunday. Despite the constant controversy, Massie compares Hocevar to drivers like Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano who stirred things up in their youthful seasons as well.

For final thoughts, Massie and Lyle share their excitement to see Lee Pulliam and Dario Franchitti get opportunities in upcoming races.
