While Jake Bollman initially posted the fastest time in ARCA Menards Series qualifying on Friday (Feb. 13), series officials disqualified his time. As a result, Gus Dean earned the pole for the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
Dean has won the third pole of his career and first since at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in 2018. Dean also has a Daytona trophy from his 2024 triumph there.
Dean’s Nitro Motorsports teammate Isabella Robusto qualified second and will join him on the front row.
Daniel Dye will start third. He is making his first ARCA start since 2022 and his first with Sigma Performance Services. Dye will attempt to contest the ARCA, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races this weekend.
Sean Corr starts fourth, one spot ahead of Garrett “Cleetus McFarland” Mitchell, who gets his best career ARCA start to date in fifth.
The remainder of the top 10 includes Derek White, Bobby Dale Earnhardt, Mini Tyrrell, Gio Ruggiero and Robbie Kennealy.
Bollman and Jason Kitzmiller had their times disallowed and will fall back on provisionals to make the field. Bollman will start 33rd and Kitzmiller in 34th.
\With 50 cars entered for the race, and only 40 starting positions, 10 drivers failed to qualify for tomorrow’s 80-lap event. With Bollman’s DQ in qualifying, Kole Raz moves into the top 32 and will make the race. As a result, Logan Misuraca is bumped from the field, joining Bob Martin, Andrew Patterson, Ron Vandermeir Jr., Steve Lewis Jr., Dale Shearer, Tony Cosentino, Greg Van Alst, Nolan Wilson and Nick White. Cosentino is slated to run full time this season.
