Parker Retzlaff is the new driver of Viking Motorsports’ NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series team, it announced Nov. 7.
Retzlaff will drive the No. 99 full time in the series in 2026, moving over from Alpha Prime Racing.
Danny Efland will be his crew chief.
In 2025, Retzlaff drove APR’s No. 4, earning one top five and three top 10s en route to a 22nd-place finish in points.
Viking is his third team in four full-time seasons; in 2023 and 2024, Retzlaff piloted the No. 31 for Jordan Anderson Racing.
Viking’s No. 99 was driven by Matt DiBenedetto up until the final three races of 2025, when he was replaced by Connor Mosack. DiBenedetto scored a top five at Talladega Superspeedway, while Mosack’s best result was 22nd at Phoenix Raceway.
Efland, a former O’Reilly driver, joins the team from AM Racing, where he had been Harrison Burton‘s crew chief this season. Previous crew chief Pat Tryson will oversee the team’s shop operations.
Kevin Rutherford is the executive editor of Frontstretch, a position he gained in 2025 after being the managing editor since 2015, and serving on the editing staff since 2013.
At his day job, he's a journalist covering music and rock charts at Billboard. He lives in New York City, but his heart is in Ohio -- you know, like that Hawthorne Heights song.
